You're not here to make things pretty. You're here to make things work.
We're looking for a commercially-minded designer who understands that every pixel has a job to do. You'll work across brand identities, websites, landing pages and campaign assets, building the visual systems that help founders convert attention into revenue.
Dark-first aesthetic isn't a preference at Mode. It's a requirement. If your portfolio is full of pastel gradients and stock photo layouts, this isn't the role.
What you'll do
- Design high-conversion websites and landing pages — from wireframe to final build-ready assets
- Create brand identity systems — logos, colour palettes, type systems, brand guidelines
- Produce campaign assets across paid social, display, email and organic channels
- Build and maintain design systems that scale across multiple client brands
- Collaborate directly with founders and the Mode team — no layers, no middlemen
- Turn tight briefs into polished output, fast
What we're looking for
- A strong portfolio of brand and web work — commercial, not conceptual
- Figma as your default tool. You live in it.
- An eye for type and a deep understanding of why it matters
- Experience designing for conversion — not just aesthetics
- Comfortable working to tight briefs and tighter timelines
- You understand dark UI, high-contrast layouts and bold visual hierarchy
- Bonus: motion graphics, Webflow, or illustration capability
This role is for you if
- You produce work that makes people stop scrolling
- You can take a one-line brief and come back with something better than the client imagined
- You care about craft but you care about results more
- You don't need hand-holding or three rounds of feedback to get it right
- You want to work with a team that ships, not one that decks
This role isn't for you if
- You need a creative director looking over your shoulder
- Your portfolio is mostly spec work or university projects
- You think "brand guidelines" means picking two fonts and a colour
- You can't work fast without dropping quality
