Nicole Dougan — Founder, Mode Marketing
How I think about the work

I notice when something looks generic before I can articulate why. I care about whether the business behind a brand is being represented honestly. Not just whether the colour palette is fashionable.

I want the work to be useful to the person using it, not just visually interesting to the person who made it.

Most of what's wrong with agency work isn't poor execution. It's poor framing. The wrong brief. The wrong question. The wrong measure of success. I try to get those right before anything else.

My role

Strategy

Positioning, messaging, package selection and campaign direction. Every account starts with a clear brief and a clear objective.

Brand & Design

I direct the visual output: colour, type, layout, identity. The work should feel right before it looks right.

Web Builds

Conversion-led structure, copy direction and build oversight. Every site we ship is designed to perform, not just to present.

Campaigns & Growth

Google Ads strategy, SEO, paid social. AI-assisted where it accelerates the work. Human-led where it matters.

My standards

I don't ship things I'm not proud of.

Speed and polish are not in conflict. They're both a matter of preparation. If something isn't right, I say so, whether that's uncomfortable or not.

I won't tell you your brand is working if I think it isn't. I won't recommend a package that doesn't fit where you are. And I won't disappear after the handover.

That's the standard I expect from this business, and from every piece of work that leaves under Mode's name.
